Reading Journal

Today and this week i Have been reading a book called Halo: The Cole Protocol
THe cole protocole is about a futuristic group of 3 super soldiers codenamed Spartan-II or just Spartans. They were put into teams ranging form 3-5 men. This book talks about Gray team. They were sent beyond enemy lines.
Of all the halo books, this was my favorite. I realy got down and associated with spartan-103 known as mike. He was the brains of the operation. He had the idea to destroy the rubbel with a shiva nuclear missle. He got it inside using the air ducts. I predicted the idea to send in a nuclear misssel through the vents and i thought just like him.
That is the end of my Reading journal
But i got a new favorite song
It is called the Wrong Way by Sublime
Thx everyone and good night

nothing

ok so josh's blog was "deep" ugh so where and how to begin... ok so nothing is quite simply a term used for the absence of all. Out of the merriam-webster dictionary Nothing is defined as well... a plane in which there are no molecular particles or and energy what so ever. Or in english where something does not exist. So on that note, nothing is nothing, is a statement that is not possible to be determined as nothing is possible as is Enstin's theorey of Relativity. On this note i have a new guesetion for all you people to wonder about. If a tree falls in the woods and no ones around does it make a sound?

Reading Journal 9

This week I read so much stuff I don't know what to write about. maybe about the physics book or about Artemis Fowl 6... I guess i will talk about the more interesting of the two. In the physics book titled, the world of physics, I had to read more about gravity. I found out thatgravity was 9.8 Meters per Second per Second. this means that every second the speed increases by 9.8 Meters per Second. I am going to need this for my scene in our haunted house

Reading Journal Zeta

OK so this week i read a lot of stuff about silver. It is the best time to buy like today! It is at $10 an ounce and it is scarce. This have driven up the premium to 3 dollars but it is worth it as silver will hit 400 dollars an ounce before February 2009. This will allow investors to generate great sums of money. This will be good for those who know how to invest and catastrophic for those who don't.

Reading Journal Zeta

Ok so this weekend i read the SD Union Tribune. I read about how auto makers saw sales sputter. For the first time since 1993, Automakers have sold less than a million cars in a month. This is due to the fall of the economy and is very sad. People can not buy new cars anymore because they don't have enough money. I hope this is due to september being the last month in the 2008 model car.

Reading Journal Epsilon

Ok so this week I read this article and used blooms taxonomy to dissect it.

Tier 1 Knowledge: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said the American Dollar is a worthless piece of paper.

Tier 2 Comprehension: This reminds me of the Great Depression

Tier 3 Application: I should pull money out of the bank and put it in Silver.

Tier 4 Analysis: The US dollar went down because we rely too much on foreign oil.

Tier 5 Synthesis: I predict we will come out of this hole when a new type of fuel is discovered.

Tier 6 Evaluation: I agree that the US dollar is not as strong as it was a few years ago.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez took a fresh swipe at his arch foe the United States on Friday, saying Washington was unable to handle the financial crisis and wanted to use a worthless dollar to own the world.
The leader of South America's biggest oil exporting country had just met French President Nicolas Sarkozy on a visit that had already taken him to Cuba, China, and Russia.
"The Americans harass us and attack us... (they) want to buy the world with paper that does not have any value," Chavez told reporters in the courtyard of the presidential palace.
Washington expected to remedy the current crisis "by running the money printer, and I strongly doubt we'll be able to resolve the crisis that way," he said.
An official from Sarkozy's office who spoke on condition of anonymity said the French president had urged Chavez to think ahead to the next U.S. administration and not give his adversaries a pretext to "caricaturise" him.
The official added that France was eager to help Venezuela diversify its economy and was ready to transfer technology in the transport and energy sectors, as well as in defence to help fight illegal trafficking in the Caribbean.
Chavez said the activities of French oil companies Total (TOTF.PA:
Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and Perenco came up in his talks with Sarkozy, as well as projects involving the auto industry and underground trains in Caracas. Further talks would be held at a meeting on October 2-3, he added.

Reading Journal Delta

This week i read an article that might not mean much to others but means a lot to me. It was about the situation between Russia and the US. The reason why this article means a lot to me is that Platinium is a rare metal which is only found in very scarce areas of the world and the biggest supplier is Russia. So if the US goes to war with Russia, the the price of platinium soars through the roof. The increase would be almost 500%!!! So the $1,300 coin will go up to $6,500. One thing comes to mind. Invest.
Below is the article...

Mood between Russia and West gets worse
By Judy Dempsey
Thursday, September 18, 2008
BERLIN: Relations between Russia and the West deteriorated further Thursday, with a warning by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that the Kremlin's attempt to rebuild the country had taken a "dark turn" and that a "paranoid, aggressive impulse" from the Russian past was reappearing.
In a speech in Washington on U.S.-Russia relations, Rice also criticized Moscow for using its role as a major energy supplier "as a political weapon against some of its neighbors." She castigated Russia for threatening "journalists, dissidents and others."
"What has become clear is that the legitimate goal of rebuilding Russia has taken a dark turn with the rollback of personal freedoms, the arbitrary enforcement of the law, the pervasive corruption at various levels of Russian society and the paranoid, aggressive impulse which has manifested itself before in Russian history," she said.
Rice's tough speech followed a day of growing tensions between Moscow and major international organizations, including NATO and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, or OSCE, which is based in Vienna.
The Kremlin's envoy in Kabul threatened to bloc NATO from using Russian air space for operations in Afghanistan.
And in Vienna, Russia failed to agree where military monitors from the OSCE should be deployed in Georgia's conflict zones.
Diplomats in Vienna said that the stance taken by the Kremlin underlined the difficulties that NATO, the OSCE and the European Union faced with Russia.
All three are dependent on Russia's support, with NATO using Russian air space for some of its cargo and logistics required for the NATO-led operation in Afghanistan.
The Russian envoy in Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, told the BBC that Russian air space was "still open, but if the NATO countries continue with their hostile policies with regard to Russia, definitely this issue will happen."
Kabulov made his remarks a day after NATO's 26 ambassadors and its secretary general, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, ended a two-day visit to the Georgian capital, Tbilisi.
There, the envoys pledged support for Georgia eventually joining the NATO alliance, with de Hoop Scheffer insisting that the alliance would not be intimidated by Russia.
The Russian leadership has repeatedly warned NATO against admitting Georgia and Ukraine. But by sending Russian troops into Georgia last month, ostensibly to wrest control of the breakaway region of South Ossetia from Georgian forces, diplomats said Russia appears to have strengthened the alliance's resolve to commit to admitting Georgia at some stage.
In Vienna, the OSCE - which includes the United States, Russia, many of the former Soviet states and Europe - locked horns with Russia over the terms of sending military monitors into the buffer zone around South Ossetia. Russian forces last month drove out Georgian troops and then declared the breakaway region of Georgia independent.
After weeks of wrangling in Vienna over the terms under which the monitors would be deployed, the chairman of the OSCE said Thursday that all talks had broken off because there was no agreement.
"There is no point in continuing negotiations," said Antti Turunen, chairman of the OSCE council. "The area of responsibility for monitors is the main sticking point."
Anvar Azimov, Russian's envoy to the talks, said Russia was "keeping the door open, ready to continue the dialogue. No doubt we will find a constructive solution."
Paata Gaprindashvili, the Georgian envoy, said Russia did not want to allow observers into South Ossetia because it wanted it to be treated as an independent state.
Last month, after the fighting between Georgian and Russian forces ended, the OSCE member states agreed to increase the monitors from 8 to 20 immediately and then later raise the number to 100.
The agreement was that the monitors would be deployed in the areas adjacent to South Ossetia where they would monitor compliance with the conditions of a six-point plan negotiated by the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, and Russia. This also includes the delivery of humanitarian assistance. The U.S delegation in Vienna insisted that the military monitors be given full access "to the whole of Georgia, with particular focus on the conflict zone, to include South Ossetia."
The European Union is planning to send up to 200 observers to the region by Oct. 1, before Russia withdraws its forces from the buffer zone inside undisputed Georgian territory.
Russia made it clear it was not prepared to give military monitors from the OSCE and the EU any leeway or flexibility in terms of their geographical deployment, although the monitors from both organizations expected they would at least have access to the buffer zone around South Ossetia.

Raeding Jornal Alpha

This reading jornal is about the book, Breaking Through

How would you feel if your entire life was taken away?

In the book ,Breaking Through, Francisco Jimenez is fourced out of the united states.

I would feel terible if i was forced out of this wonderful country. I would be emotionaly destroyed if the 7-11 became the oxxo.

I realy enjoyed the part when Francisco and Roberto went back to the united states to make money to bring their entire family back. moreover i enjoyed the part when Francisco's Family climbed out of the car and he ran over and hugged them.

I realted to this in a way. In 5th grade i went to Washington DC with my school. throughout the trip I missed my parents. When i arrived at the airport in SD i was so happy. I ran to the baggage claim and hugged my parents. (remember i was 9 at the time). i was so happy to see them again.

I am enjoying this book. I probebly will finish this book in a day. I hope this is long enough

MOSCOW (AP) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warns that his country may offer a military response to a U.S. missile shield in Europe.
Medvedev says that the deployment of an anti-missile system close to Russian borders "will of course create additional tensions."
"We will have to react somehow, to react, of course, in a military way," Medvedev was quoted as saying Tuesday by the RIA-Novosti news agency.
Russian officials have already warned of a military response to the U.S. plans, but the statement by the Russian leader was likely to further aggravate already tense relations with the West. The comments come after Medvedev recognized two Georgian regions as independent nations, prompting criticism from the U.S. and Europe.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.
MOSCOW (AP) _ Russia formally recognized the breakaway Georgian territories at the heart of its war with Georgia on Tuesday, drawing immediate condemnation from the West as the United States dispatched a military ship bearing aid to a port city still patrolled by Russian troops.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was unapologetic about his decision and said he did not fear a Cold War. He said Georgia forced Russia's hand by launching an attack targeting South Ossetia on Aug. 7 in an apparent bid to seize control of the breakaway region.
In response, Russian tanks and troops drove deep into the U.S. ally's territory in a five-day war that Moscow saw as a justified response to a military threat in its backyard and the West viewed as a repeat of Soviet-style intervention in its vassal states.
"This is not an easy choice but this is the only chance to save people's lives," Medvedev said Tuesday in a televised address a day after Russia's Kremlin-controlled parliament voted unanimously to support the diplomatic recognition.
The U.S. was taken surprise by the speed of the Russian response on
recognition and escalated it by having Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice threaten a U.N. Security Council veto should Russia ask for international recognition of its move.
"Abkhazia and South Ossetia are a part of the internationally recognized borders of Georgia and it's going to remain so," Rice said.
Britain, Germany and France also criticized the decision.
Medvedev later said Russia did not seek or fear a new Cold War and that it was up to the West to avoid it.
"We are not afraid of anything, including the prospect of a Cold War, but we of course don't want it." Medvedev told the Russia Today television channel. "In this situation everything depends on the position of our partners ... in the West."
"If they want to preserve good relations with Russia in the West, they will understand the reason behind our decision and the situation will be calm," Medvedev added.
Russian forces have staked out positions beyond the de-facto borders of the separatist regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The two territories have effectively ruled themselves following wars in the 1990s.
While Western nations have called the Russian military presence in Poti a clear violation of an EU-brokered cease-fire, a top Russian general countered Tuesday that using warships to deliver aid was "devilish."
"The heightened activity of NATO ships in the Black Sea perplexes us," Col. Gen. Anatoly Nogovitsyn said in Moscow. The United States says its ships are carrying humanitarian aid but suspicion persists in Russia that they are delivering military materiel clandestinely.
Many of the Russian forces have pulled back from their positions in Georgia, but hundreds at least are estimated to still be manning checkpoints that Russia calls "security zones."
Two of those checkpoints are near the edge of Poti, one of Georgia's most important Black Sea ports _ one by a bridge that provides the only access to Poti. The Russian military is also claiming the right to patrol in the city.
Angering Russia, the United States sent the missile destroyer USS McFaul to the southern Georgian port of Batumi, well away from the conflict zone, to deliver 34 tons of humanitarian aid on Sunday.
The McFaul left Batumi on Tuesday but would remain in the Black Sea area, said Commander Scott Miller, a spokesman for the U.S. Navy's 6th Fleet in Naples, Italy.
The U.S. Coast Guard cutter Dallas, meanwhile, was headed for Georgia with a shipment of aid.
Embassy spokesman Stephen Guice did not give details on which ship would aim to enter Poti, but it appeared likely the smaller Coast Guard ship would aim to dock, with the McFaul possibly remaining on guard at sea.
While he did not link it with the U.S. ships, Nogovitsyn said a unit of Russian naval ships was off Sukhumi _ the capital of another separatist Georgian region, Abkhazia, on the Black Sea north of Poti. He said the ships were observing the pullout of Russian troops from Georgia.
Nogovitsyn told reporters that 10 ships from NATO nations were currently in the Black Sea and that eight more are to join them soon.
"They have very serious arsenal on their ships," Nogovitsyn said. "The Black Sea is just a small pool for their arms with the range of 2,500 kilometers."
The United States and other Western countries have given substantial military aid to Georgia, angering Russia, which regards Georgia as part of its historical sphere of influence. Russia has also complained bitterly about aspirations by Georgia and Ukraine to join NATO.
Medvedev said Georgian Presdent Mikhail Saakshvili was so bent on gaining control of South Ossetia that he resorted to "genocide."
"Georgia chose the least human way to achieve its goal _ to absorb South Ossetia by eliminating a whole nation," Medvedev said.
Hundreds of jubilant Ossetians and Abkhazians spilled onto the streets in their regional capitals after his announcement, waving national flags, firing shots in the air, cheering and dancing traditional Caucasian dances. "This is the happiest day of my life," said Julia Babyeva, 19, as she celebrated the news in the devastated South Ossetian capital of Tskhinvali.
But in Tbilisi, Saakashvili called Russia's decision an attempt at a landgrab.
"It is the first attempt in Europe, since Nazi Germany and Stalin, of a big country to annex the territory of another country," Saakashvili said.
Both breakaway regions rely heavily on Russia for pensions and government subsidies. Most people in the two regions have been given Russian passports, and already consider themselves citizens of Russia.
Russia's military presence seems likely to further weaken Georgia, a Western ally in the Caucasus region, a major transit corridor for energy supplies to Europe and a strategic crossroads close to the Middle East, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia and energy-rich Central Asia.
Georgia lashed out at Russia, as expected.
"Russia is trying to legalize the results of an ethnic cleansing it has conducted, to oppose it to the West," Georgia's state minister on reintegration, Timur Yakobashvili, told The Associated Press. "But it will result in Russia's isolation from the world."
In London, British oil company BP PLC announced Monday it has reopened the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, which runs through Georgia.
The pipeline, which provides some 1 million barrels per day of Caspian Sea crude to international markets, had been closed for more than two weeks after a fire on its Turkish stretch. Kurdish rebels claimed responsibility for the blaze.
